Our Cheeky Mary

Bloody Mary using Worcestershire Sauce

The classic Bloody Mary may have been around since the 1920s, but there’s a reason it has stood the test of time. It’s bold, punchy, and right at home at brunch with your mates.

Like any good classic, there are plenty of ways to make one. So we teamed up with our favourite local Bloody Mary expert, Ms. V, to put together our own Corporal Freddie’s version.

This recipe can be made two ways depending on the mood. One a little more cheeky. One a little more breakfast-friendly. Both packed with bold flavour and a proper splash of Worcestershire Sauce.

Let’s start with the cheeky one first.

Freddie's Cheeky Mary inspired by Ms. V

A spicy Bloody Mary made for long lunches, BBQs, brunches, and those afternoons that somehow turn into evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 part V8 Hot & Spicy Vegetable Juice
  • 2-3 parts Vodka (Grey Goose or Belvedere if you're feeling fancy, but your budget vodka will do the job too)
  • 2 teaspoons Freddie's Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 splashes of Tabasco
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Few shakes of black peppercorn pepper

Method
1.
Add all ingredients to a glass
2. Stir well using a chopstick or long spoon
3. Taste and adjust to your liking
4. Add more V8 if too strong
5. Add extra Tabasco or Freddie's Worcestershire Sauce if you want more kick
6. Garnish with a sliced stick of cucumber or celery to finish it of properly.

The Freddie's Breakfast Mary

Prefer something a little lighter? Use the exact same recipe and switch the ratio to:

  • 1 part vodka
  • 2-3 parts tomato juice

Still bold. Still full of flavour. Just a little less cheeky.

There you have it. One Bloody Mary recipe, two ways.

Cheers to Bloody Mary's the Freddie's way.

And don't forget the most important part - a proper splash of Freddie's Worcestershire Sauce.
